Project Overview

The Ukrainian War Poetry Video Archive curates, preserves, and archives poetry videos made and shared by Ukrainians on social media as a response to Russia's full-scale invasion against Ukraine. Social media poetry videos are an extremely popular and viral genre in Ukraine that must be understood as cultural heritage and also as works of documentary that preserve the stories of Ukrainians surviving the war.

Goals

My aim is to create a website that will serve as a space of culture and community for Ukrainians experiencing war but will also be a gallery and education tool for scholars outside of Ukraine who will be able to access the materials in English translation. Ultimately, the archive/gallery will function as a historical record of the war and its cultural and humanitarian consequences.
